Making my book

I decided to make a 3d cat. Its a bit larger than expected but it fits perfectly with my book that I have chosen to hold up the cat.

Me and Hillary drew the outline of the cat to be go on either side of my book. We used paper maché on top of the cat to form the arms, tail and facial features.
When the paper maché had dried I painted my cat black as a different coloured cat would be too difficult to paint for example a tabby coloured cat. I took the cat templates home to glue them to a book. This was the hardest part as I needed a very thick book to hold the cat templates up but I also couldn't decide how many books I wanted to have in the middle. As I wanted the book to be made for something useful e.g a book holder. Which lead me to contemplate whether to make another cat but it would take too long so I made another book which was a jewellery box book (again in the useful theme I was going for).
In the end for my cat book I decided to have only one book and it wasn't going to be for a useful item. Although I havent glued the pages together so people can still read what it is about. I Googled some cat eyes and nose and stuck them on and for the whiskers I used the bristles from a sweeping brush.
I am very pleased with my book but it is really heavy.
